I had a relaxing and tranquil experience at the Nizuc Resort and Spa (Quintana Roo, Cancun) for my 40th birthday. The Nizuc Resort and Spa was exceptional when it came to cleanliness. I feel in love with the décor and ambience of the lobby, views and airy flow of things. The grounds of the resort were amazing with all the beautiful vegetation and water features. It felt so relaxing and like a tranquil paradise. Our suite was nice and the ocean view from our suite made our stay feel like a second honeymoon. The bathroom was breathtaking (yes, the bathroom)! It had a soaker tub with a flat screen television above it a(not pictured) and a tropical rain shower with amazingly soothing water pressure.
We enjoyed the poolside views, food and service. There is an all-inclusive pool and an adult only pool. This resort is not cheap but it was nice that the cabanas, snorkeling equipment and kayaks were available at no additional charge. There was so much to do, we did not have the time to enjoy all of the amenities (due to me scheduling day trips).
The reason I did not give this resort an excellent five star rating is because the Wifi connection was inconsistent and difficult to maintain. I tend to select luxury and boutique hotels for the service and attention to detail. The service was very good but I feel it’s important to pay attention to the little things. Many hotels/resorts inquire if your stay is for a special occasion (birthday, anniversary, etc). My husband mentioned to the concierge about my birthday and upon check-in, copies of our passports were requested (which includes our date of birth). A birthday dessert or some type of acknowledgement left in our suite would have made all the difference. In their defense, it was a nice touch to have welcome snacks upon our arrival (above) and a treat each night in a little bag.
I would definitely stay at this resort again and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It’s among my top five hotel stays but I cannot give it the number one spot.
